Open Studio time at nanopod: Hybrid Studio

Work with metal + glass

5 spaces for working on your jewelry related projects using metal, beads, stones, etc.
1 table with rolling mill, anvil, stamps, vice. This table is used for forming.
Separate soldering/buffing-polishing area.

4 torches for flame-working/lamp-working or working on glass projects for fusing.
3 Bead annealers, 2 kilns for fusing projects

Open Studio time for Winter 2012. Open Studio (torch/bench) hours will be held on Saturday afternoons from noon to 3pm and/or 3pm - 6pm.

Jump on this chance to use nanopod: Hybrid Studio torches and sharpen skills you acquired in nanopod classes. Limited amounts of scrap rod are available for use at no charge during these sessions. Prerequisite: Completion of at least one introductory or intermediate torchworking class at nanopod.

Materials and expendables are not included in Open Torch/Bench time- you will need to supply your own saw blades, solder, drill bits, wax, metal, enamel powders, stones, etc. Instruction* is not included in Open Studio time- you need to know what you are doing and how to properly/safely operate equipment, tools, and torches. Nanopod has a selection of Moretti/Effetre, Vetrofond, CiM and some Double Helix and Lauscha glass available for sale by the rod.

Local Suppliers: Lacy & Co is located at 69 Queen Street East and sells metal working supplies. Imperial Products supplies sterling silver, and gold in sheet form, wire, solder, tubing, etc. For casting your wax models there are a number of casting companies in Toronto: HL located at 59 Adelaide East, just west of Church street. membership definitely has its advantages. For one it cost less per hour, you have priority placement, and your time doesn't have to be used consecutively.

Member Option 1: $150.00 for 24 hour pre-paid punch card, good for 4 months.
This works out to $8.30 an hour.

Member Option 2: $250.00 for 36 hour pre-paid punch card good for 5 months.
This works out to $6.94 an hour.

Open Studio time can be paid for at the studio via Visa, Mastercard, Debit or Cash.
