I continue to study
and learn new techniques to incorporate into my work and instruction. I don't
believe in 'keeping secrets' and I strive to pass along as much information
as I can to people that sign up for my jewellery courses. I am a strong believer
in "..anything is possible.." and that one learns by doing. I feel
strongly that the work created by beginning students with little or no previous
experience that can be viewed on this website is a testimony of my ability
to transfer the knowledge that I have gained. My classes are structured but
not hindered by formality or pre-requisite abilities; I provide an environment
in which individual creativity is nurtured and small ideas can flourish to
great work in an exceptionally short period of time.

nanopod: Hybrid Studio has been an independently run artistís studio since 2005.
Working with metal for over 25 years, Teran was introduced to glass as an artistic medium in the late 80ís however the concept of incorporating glass in her work wouldn't kick-in until 2004 when working with a glass blower at Harbourfront Studios, flameworkers and soon after, casting at Urban Glass Brooklyn. Glass studies continued at Corning with Colourist, Suellen Fowler and Jesse Kohl.
In 2008 Teran's metal and glass work caught the attention of Dawn Bennett, executive director of Urban Glass who invited Tosca to create a body of work to be featured at SOFA, NY 2009.
2010 looks to be a pivotal year! Having been awarded three scholarships to three prestigious schools, Tosca will be studying at the Penland School of Crafts with Janis Miltenberger, Corning with Loren Stump, and Pilchuck Glass School with Kari Russell-Pool this summer.
This exciting adventure in glass will be blogged daily.
