Where some students may find fabricating a piece of metal by hand a bit daunting as well as studio set-up pricey or unsafe for condo and apartment use, students may find PMC offers fairly immediate results at a fraction of the cost for tools, easy set-up in a condo or apartment without the need of a torch, tanks and extra heavy equipment. Certain stones can be added directly to the clay while working it and fired safely, as well as findings for earrings, pendants, etc., you can also add enamel powders to your piece for extra colour, and even certain types of glass can be fired directly with the clay.
I currently offer PMC courses starting at $250 per student, this includes a kit with 25 grams of PMC3, a PMC3 syringe and paste along with some stones that can be used during the firing process, cork clay for hollowforms and beads, as well as some minor tools. Miniature kilns or 'Hot Pots' can be purchased for firing your pieces at home for an extra charge.
